Adult Webmaster Coding Tutorial

Understanding HTML/CSS...

So, you've decided to take the plunge and get rid of your WYSIWYG editor once and for all...

Good for you! But if you're like most webmasters, this probably isn't the first time you've tried.

A mainstream webmaster that I know has tried to do it many times. Every time it seemed that he was going to get it, he'd run into a problem that he didn't feel like spending the time learning to fix, and go back to his WYSIWYG editor.

Why couldn't he (or you, for that matter) learn it? Well, I've actually spent a LOT of time thinking about it and you'll be glad to know that it's most likely, not your fault...

Back To School...

In the early 1980's, when I was in high school, (I know, I'm dating myself) I got to get my hands on a computer for the very first time where I was taught to program in BASIC on its beautiful, green, monochrome screen. Despite the fact that we didn't have the internet (or LOLCats) to keep it interesting, I stuck with it and managed to write some little programs.

I mentioned that because, although I eventually got pretty darn good with BASIC, for most of the first semester, I lagged way behind most of the other people in the class. Why? Because I'm not a full-fledged nerd, that's why. Seriously! Though I consider myself reasonably intelligent, it was only my shear stubborness to succeed that enabled me to learn to program, not my ability to understand nerdspeak.

No disrespect to nerds intended. Nerds make the world go round and I know it! Besides, what's in a name? Would not a nerd by any other name still smell like Doritos and Mountain Dew?

As you've probably guessed, just from trying them, most programming tutorials are written by nerds who are extremely anal about code. On the upside, that's what makes them so good at it. On the downside, that's what makes them bad at teaching it.

The fapmaster Difference...

There are MANY different ways that I could have coded the presentation of this (or any other) website and in most tutorials ALL of them would be covered ad infinitum. I'm only going to show you at most, a couple of ways. Why? Because no porn surfer is going to run the code of your jello-wrestling-ladyboys site past the W3C to see if it validates. And because as an adult webmaster, it's not crucially important for you to know the other ways because you'll most likely never have a need for them.

I won't touch on the "valid" code stuff very much. The truth is, that even if you painstakingly make your code fully W3C compliant, as an adult publisher, a lot of the advertising scripts that you insert into your pages will come from third parties who most likely will forbid you to alter any aspect of them.

Because most of the programmers writing the scripts care little about whether their code is valid, it will be next to impossible for your pages to pass the W3C's markup validator while the ad scripts are in place!

Now, no self-respecting nerd could ever bear with only telling you what you need to know, it would KILL him/her! Instead, the nerd must tell you every possible, conceivable way to do it, including all of the ways that they used to do it, but don't anymore, as well as the history behind why they don't do it that way anymore, etc., etc...

Sorry, but that is precisely why most people give up on learning to hand code. Instead of wasting valuable time wading through the boatloads of mostly inconsequential details of the tutorials, it's just way too easy to go back to the WYSIWYG editor and actually get something done. Well, you're not going to see any long-winded explanations here (or at least not many more... LOL).
